Be part of Big Cypress history! We’re excited to announce the renaming of our campsites, previously known as 7-Mile, 10-Mile, 13-Mile and 17-Mile Camps, in Big Cypress National Preserve. Since the southern terminus of the FNST was relocated years ago, these campsites are no longer located at their namesake mile points, leading to confusion and safety concerns for hikers. The National Park Service (NPS) and the US Forest Service (USFS) have permitted us to rename these sites, and we want your help to choose the best names!
How to Participate:
Submit Your Ideas: Think of creative and memorable names for each campsite.
Selection Process: Our team will review all submissions and select the winners.
Win Prizes: The top three names will be presented to the National Park Service (NPS) and each winner will receive an exclusive FTA Prize Pack!

Criteria: Names should reflect the natural beauty, history, or unique features of Big Cypress. Keep it brief (3 words or less) and avoid using people’s names.
