On February 18, 2025, the South Florida Water Management District plans to conduct up to a 1300 acre prescribed burn in Okeechobee County. The burn unit is in the Kissimmee River PUA, Oak Creek unit, approximately 8 miles north of Basinger. Smoke maybe visible in the area of the burn as identified in the map.
Impacted sections of trail will be marked by and patrolled by burn crews. Please avoid the Florida Trail in this area until burn operations are complete.
