As of mid-December, a significant portion of the FT along the Suwannee River remains closed and inaccessible due to hurricane damage. The Florida Trail is open from Big Shoals State park to Gibson Park (51 miles). All trail to the west (trail north) remains closed. This includes Suwannee River State Park and Twin Rivers State Forest.
Additional trail restoration work has been scheduled for late January, and FTA anticipates that these areas will re-open by early February. Given the extent of impacted trail please use the following detour.
