A planned reroute of the Florida National Scenic Trail (FNST) is scheduled for 11/14/2025 through 11/17/2025. The FNST will be relocated from Nobles Grade onto the Blue Trail and Jones Grade. The Blue Trail will be re-blazed orange to match the FNST blazing standard. The relocation starts 0.8 mile north of the I-75 Parking Area / Entrance Gate in the Big Cypress Preserve Addition Lands (MM-63 Trailhead). The new route for the FNST will take hikers to Carpenter Campsite and Panther Campsite. The relocated FNST will then join Jones Grade 0.1 mile beyond Panther Campsite and stay on Jones Grade to the Big Cypress Seminole Indian Reservation Boundary. The new mileage for the FNST Reroute through the Big Cypress Preserve Addition Lands from the I-75 Parking Area to the Entrance Gate at the Big Cypress Seminole Indian Reservation Boundary is 11.2 miles.
“Caution” all water is standing water and seasonal for campsites. Water may dry up during the dry season. Know the local conditions before hiking. Treat all water before drinking.
