Update 5/30/23- This closure order has been rescinded. The FNST in Big Cypress is now fully reopened. However, the trail has not been accessed at this time. Due to the summer conditions in south Florida, it may be challenging to access the trail and remove fallen trees right away. Blazes will likely to have been compromised as well.Â
Update 5/10/23- This is still a significant fire and the FNST remains closed. The fire is now at over 10,000 acres and 15% contained. We estimate the trail will be closed for a few more weeks.Â
Due to a wildfire near the Blue Loop Trail, the Florida Trail is closed from Oasis Visitor Center to I-75. See full notice below.Â
